Montanta Weather and All Hell Won't Wait

The weather has definitely improved here near Bozeman. Last week we suffered negative temperatures, as low as 23 below. Cars started reluctantly, we eased over ice, through long narrow roads, peering through frosty windshields.

The blue skies are still here in big sky country, but its warmed up to the single digits. Still, one can't drive too fast. Yesterday a blizzard closed the Interstate for awhile.

Snowshoe rabbits and deer grazing in the fields are common sights. People get off work and hunker down. Not enough snow here to cross country ski. I'm loving the blue skies after working in Girdwood, Alaska for 3 1/5 months. There are two more hours of daylight than when I left Alaska, and soon the days will be getting longer.

The second book in the River Survival Series is now available in print. I edited it so it has chapter breaks. The kindle and nook e-versions reflect a growing maturity in my writing style. Well, that's the goal at least.

A Measured Response, End of Days Novel Available

A Measured Response is the first book in the Trilogy End of Days.

I finally have it it finished and uploaded to the Amazon.com E-Book department, otherwise known as Kindle for PC.

This book took an incredible emotional toll on me. I had no idea how involved I would become with the whole survival/ apocalyptic scenario. It sort of wrote itself, unfolding daily. I walk and bring a notebook with me in the mornings on my wilderness hikes. The story would unfold in this atmosphere, and the trail miles would slip by while my mind worked it out.

I did a lot of research for this book because the weaponry and battle scenes needed to be accurate. The skills our people use are fairly detailed. The second book is now in progress.

Writing my first novel has been unlike any experience I've ever had.

A friend turned me onto Kindle at http://Amazon.com

She wrote two books about Yellowstone and showed me how I could download kindle free for my pc and then have books delivered directly to my computer. I can then read them at will and keep them forever on my hard drive. No worries about clutter, post office fees, or delivery charges.

Betsy E. Judson wrote Visit Yellowstone Park, A Bison Led Tour of the Geyser Basin, and Volume two, A Bison -Led Tour Along the Yellowstone River.

Both have photos on every page of wildlife, flowers, and gorgeous scenery. She tells the story in rhyming verse with a large vocabulary. I was amazed at how well it read aloud because she uses words for the educated person.

"Now Bart's spindly legs, all sinewy muscles
Spin a three sixty and propel as he hustles
Up ancient trails, and through wildlife mazes
that run through forest marked by buffalo blazes"
